Your new roleThe core focus of the role is working across various engineering disciplines in mechanical, mechatronics, robotics, automation, systems and control engineering. This position requires a senior manager with experience leading teams particularly around new product development, ideally from concept through to manufacturing and delivery. This role requires stakeholder management, mentoring and development of the engineering team, as well as the ability to lead and develop engineering and project management activities.
Key Responsibilities;- Work with the wider engineering team on New Product Development (NPD) activities ensuring finance and forecasting activities are delivered.
- Ownership of the mechatronics NDP process ensuring review and improvements of processes are completed.
- Lead senior level engineering functions across the team, ensuring reviewing and refining of processes where necessary are completed
- Ensure that financial & timing analyses for planned projects are prepared as part of the NPD process.
- Be a part of quality and design reviews, ensuring refined designs are reviewed and approved by Technical Managers
- Manage a large team of engineers to deliver on company and customer vision.
- Take ownership of the product portfolio and deliver on required outputs, variations, budgets, team management etc,
What you'll need to succeed- Proven technical excellence and qualifications in an engineering discipline (Mechatronics, robotics, mechanical etc.)
- Financial and Business acumen
- Experience delivering a product from conception through to manufacturing.
- Previous experience managing large engineering teams and dealing with senior level stakeholders.
- Proven ability to autonomously manage large to medium projects, prioritise tasks and deliver milestones and objectives.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
