Our client is a leading supplier of digital radio systems, satellite communications and safety equipment into the security, construction, manufacturing, mining and petrochemical industries. They are part of a diverse group of businesses delivering specialised technology solutions to commercial and government customers across the Asia Pacific region. As well as providing modern and reliable equipment, they offer expert advice and develop solutions suited to their client’s unique requirements, plus specialised management services, including event and project planning, consultation, equipment installation, training and on-site communications management. They have offices located strategically across the country and can support business operations anywhere in Australia. As part of ongoing growth a position is available in their Queensland sales team.

Your new role


Reporting to the QLD State Manager, the primary responsibility of the Business Development Manager (BDM) is to collaborate with the sales team and other managers to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities, thereby maximizing revenue for the organization. To achieve this, you will work closely with local and national sales teams, proactively generating leads, nurturing client relationships, and consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets. Additionally, the BDM will actively seek out potential new clients, deliver persuasive presentations, and convert prospects into loyal customers. Managing existing client relationships is also a key aspect of their role, ensuring client satisfaction and retention. The BDM may be required to travel to client locations within metropolitan and regional Queensland.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in B2B business development, account management, or sales executive roles.

  • At least 2 years of experience in wireless telecommunications, wireless integration, or ICT (Information and Communications Technology) fields.

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.

  • Previous experience working within a highly motivated sales team.

  • Understanding of the relevant geographic market.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Effective presentation and communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in computer literacy.

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience in the Two-Way Radio industry (sales and/or rental).

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.

  • Industry experience in telecommunications, radio/satellite communications, or As-a-Service solutions

  • Industry experience in managed service solutions and/or rental solutions
