Your new role

As a Contaminated Land Officer, you will assist in the assessment and management of technical aspects and the impacts related to contaminated land and closed landfill sites.

In your new role, you will provide direct supervision of remediation projects and will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide effective input into the management of the technical aspects and environmental impacts on contaminated land and closed landfill sites
  • Provide ongoing assessment, remediation and management across a range of projects
  • Support the delivery of Remediation Action Plans and site Management plans
  • Be responsible for the Landfill Remediation Database and Contaminated Land Database
  • Contribute to the preparation of budget expenditures and costs estimated for current and future projects

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed, you will ideally have the following:
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental management, environmental engineering
  • Possession of a Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience in field assessments including environmental sampling and logging (Soil, groundwater, surface water, leachate, ground gas and waste)
  • Well-developed skills in the assessment of contaminated land and closed landfill sites
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the Environmental Protection and Work Health and Safety Acts on contaminated land and closed landfill sites
