Your new role
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
Meeting client needs in the least restrictive way possible;
Completing clear and factual handover notes and incident reports;
Mentoring clients and assisting them to develop independent living skills;
Assisting the client in problem-solving, conflict resolution and relapse reduction;
Managing complex and challenging client behaviours (including aggressive behaviours);
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful candidate, it is a mandate to meet the following criteria:
Homelessness support sector or related field
Always ensure confidentiality of client information
Certificate III in Community Services or related field
Effective communication and time management skills
Ability to work unsupervised at times as well as an effective team member
At least one (1) year of experience as a Support or Crisis Worker or equivalent
What you'll get in return
We are looking for a number of casual Crisis Support Workers in both Mackay and Rockhampton. The organisation runs a 24/7 facility; therefore, applicants must have availability and flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster.
