Senior Accountant

Your new role

As the Financial Accountant, you will ensure the integrity of financial statements and management reports in accordance with company Accounting Rules and local, statutory Accounting standards.

The duties and responsibilities include;
Management Accounting
Review cost centre reports for correctness of information as to recording, classification and amounts.
Budget preparation, including loading into SAP and updating cost centres.
Prepare monthly reports for local management review
Perform costing control, including production orders analysis and activity unit cost calculations
Lead in follow-up on actions arising from corporate operational audits
Ensure that AR and AP-related internal controls at the site are operating effectively

Financial Accounting
Ensure adherence to IFRS
Monitor the monthly Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheets.
Reconciliation of monthly control accounts and other accounts as required.
Perform month-end closing tasks, such as accruals.
Work with auditors in relation to any audit requirements.
Maintenance and input of standing journals for expenses and payroll including ongoing reconciliations.

Inventory
Oversee monthly cycle counts and bi-annual stocktakes and ensure proper follow-up
Analysis of inventory variations
Assist to improve stocktake variances
Monitor and report on movements
Investigate and assist to resolve discrepancies.

Accounts Payable/Receivable & Payroll
Investigate and resolve invoice variances in either quantity or price
Check/obtain authorisation for discrepancies.
Oversee the process of purchasing
Approve and monitor payment flow
Initiate urgent payment if required
Assist with reconciliation of unmatched
Support HRSS in payroll processes to ensure Australian compliance

Fixed Assets
Entry of fixed asset additions into the SAP fixed asset module.

Maintain reconciliation of the fixed asset sub ledger with the general ledger control accounts.
Co-ordinate Annual Fixed Asset stocktake.
Monitor progress of approved capital expenditure.
Prepare monthly regional and headquarters CAPEX reporting.

Taxation
Monthly BAS reporting.
Monthly withholding tax reporting.
Quarterly Activity Statement reporting.
State payroll tax calculation, lodgement and annual reconciliation for each applicable state.
Prepare FBT return.
Quarterly tax calculation and IAS12 reporting.
Work with external Tax consultants in relation to any information required for tax submissions

What you'll need to succeed

Bachelor in Accounting/Finance
Finance expert with knowledge of Finance and Control processes; minimum relevant working experience 5 years
Drive for continuous improvement.
