Hays are partnering with a National Healthcare provider who are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse Manager to join their Epping team on a permanent basis.

Your new role

The Practice Nurse Manager is responsible for leading, coaching and training a team of Nurses in providing quality clinical care. The Key responsibilities of the Practice Nurse Manager include:
Nursing Leadership:
• Leading, coaching and mentoring the Nursing team to deliver quality clinical outcomes with a commitment to ongoing training, up-skilling, and education on industry best practices and new medical procedures
• Ongoing management of direct reports, contributing to individual personal development plans
• Auditing Nurse performance within the centre including performance management in line with the organisations processes
• Manage medical supplies and equipment within the treatment room, ensuring room is well stocked and equipment is maintained, calibrated and sterilized according to relevant standards
• Support in Nursing recruitment and onboarding
• Generate weekly reports, reviewing data from the treatment room daily log and other generated reports
• Meet with the Medical Director and Business Manager to review the financials of the centre, assisting in strategic decision making
• Develop and implement nursing rosters in accordance with the relevant Award and regulatory requirements - ensuring adequate supervision of nurses and assistants. Responsible for undertaking all possible measures to fill a vacant nursing shift
• Attend internal and external meetings as the nursing representation. Build relationships with community partners to promote the centre
• Assist the Service Manager with accreditation
• Work in collaboration with the Medical Director, Practice Manager or Business Manager to resolve potential issues locally, escalating issues to the Medical Centre Management team when appropriate
• Manage Nursing/Clinical projects as Directed by the Medical Centre Management team
• Conduct regular 1on1 performance discussions with Nurses to develop staff and lift performance
• Resolve any clinical issues appropriately by effectively recording incidents, file notes, PIPs and escalating issues when required
• Achieve year on year increase in nurse retention and increase in revenue generated from the treatment room
• Appropriate coverage of treatment room with a minimal number of vacant nursing shifts
Chronic Disease Management:
• Assist GPs with conducting health assessments, GP Management plans, team care arrangements, reviews and chronic disease management tasks e.g. domiciliary medication management reviews in accordance with Medicare requirements
• Provide a framework and support system to coordinate care for patients with chronic conditions
• Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical support teams to provide a holistic healthcare approach
• Implement health behaviour change principles into care planning and delivery. Performing age and diagnosis specific health assessments designed to empower and increase patient ownership of health
Clinical Administration:
• Ensure clinical areas are stocked, clean and steralise instruments and replace them as required
• Conduct routine activities as defined in the treatment room and Clinical Care Coordination checklists

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree qualified Registered Nurse with active AHPRA registration
• 2+ years of experience in providing direct clinical nursing care
• Experience in a primary care setting and understanding of chronic disease management, prevention principles and health promotion
