I am partnered with a Federal Government Agency in the heart of Geelong to recruit an APS4 Business Analyst for a 12 month, full-time temporary assignment with the potential to extend.

Your new role

The APS4 Business Analyst is a team membership position that will work within defined parameters relating to their area of responsibility. The role will be required to apply well-established policy, principles, practices and procedures to achieve outcomes that support objectives. The role will be required to provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge in for data capture, analysis and development of performance reporting for operational information, strategic planning and reporting areas and may undertake some research and analysis activities.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
• Preparing consistent, accurate and timely reports on performance, trends and workload management, interpreting data for operational information and reporting.
• Responding to data requests and working to agreed timeframes.
• Developing and enhancing automated dashboard reporting to streamline work allocations and operational reporting across the branch.
• Contributing to the introduction and maintenance of a new Access database system.
• Identifying effective management of risks and forecasting which may impact the service delivery network and scheme sustainability.
• Supporting continuous improvement projects, mapping current processes and engaging with business areas to identify efficiencies.
• Supporting business areas to document and refine operating procedures and processes.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience in data visualisation tools.
• Experience in analysing and designing reports to facilitate data-enabled decision making.
• Experience using technical expertise to develop and enhance dashboard reporting.
• Ability to competently use IT systems such as Power BI, PACE and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Working with Childrens Check or willing to obtain
• Australian Citizenship

and ideally you'll also have:

• Experience in working in a dynamic environment and maintaining high levels of productivity to deliver consistent, accurate and timely reporting and insights.
• Experience in supporting quality assurance processes
• Experience in supporting staff training on key internal data management systems.
• High levels of productivity, resourcefulness, flexibility, and effective communication skills improvement
