Procurement Officer

Procurement Officer Opportunity looking for an immediate start.

Your new company
Our client is seeking an experienced procurement professional to join the Strategic Procurement and Finance team. In this role, you will be expected to provide expertise support in the procurement of goods and services in line with existing policies and legislation. You will be exposed to all facets of the procurement operation including contract development, tender and quotation management, administration and recordkeeping.


Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
The duties of the Sourcing and Contracting Officer will include but are not limited to:

  • Engage with Business Units to provide advice and consultancy on strategic sourcing practices

  • Coordinate the development of tender/quotation and contract documents.

  • Ensure compliance with policy, procedures, and statutory requirements.

  • Manage tender evaluations, including reporting and analysis.

  • Support Business Units with contract management plans and periodic contract meetings.

  • Deliver sourcing training programs to new user groups.

Maintain effective supplier relationships and ensure stakeholder management.


What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will ideally come with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant management discipline or equivalent experience in procurement.

  • Good knowledge of competitive tendering best practices, Australian Standards and contract law principles.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce informative reports.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience in procurement practices, including tender processes and contract management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and document management systems.

  • A keen eye for detail and excellent time management skills.

  • Procurement experience in local government would be desirable.

What you'll get in return
The successful candidate will be provided an hourly rate of $40 - $50 per hour + Super, flexible work arrangements and the opportunity to be converted into permanency after 3 months.
