Your new role
** 3- Month temp contract** As the Principal Solicitor (DA & Litigation), you are responsible for managing prosecutions, handling complex litigation, and advising on investigations. You’ll play a key role in the organization’s regulatory functions. The role requires strategic judgement and collaboration with senior stakeholders and other legal teams.
Key responsibilities include:- Delivering strategic, expert legal advice on investigations, disciplinary actions, and litigation.
- Drafting clear statements for disciplinary actions and providing recommendations to the Commission.
- Leading the conduct of prosecutions and managing evidentiary and legal challenges.
- Representing the organisation in legal forums, including the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
- Mentoring junior solicitors and managing external legal counsel.
What you'll need to succeed
A high level of legal expertise, particularly in litigation and regulatory settings, is essential. Admission to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in Victoria is required, with proven experience in managing contested legal matters and the ability to handle sensitive and complex cases within tight timelines.
