Your new role
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the IAC’s Principal Member, IAC members, IAC Reference Group members, and the IAC Secretariat to identify and propose solutions to strategic challenges facing the Agency and its participants.
- Support reference group members from diverse cohorts to effectively engage with the IAC.
- Provide pre-briefs and mentoring as needed.
- Facilitate discussions during reference group meetings.
- Conduct research on behalf of the reference groups.
- Assist in developing and delivering discussion papers, reports, and advice to the IAC for submission to the Board.
- Support independent projects on special topics from the IAC and reference group work plans.
- Advance the work of IAC subgroups and joint working groups.
- Support the induction of new IAC and reference group members.
What you'll need to succeed
- Deep understanding of lived experiences and the disability sector, providing expert advice and strategic direction recognized as authoritative.
- Strong strategic grasp of the operating environment, especially regarding those living with disabilities and the advice the IAC may offer.
- Proficient in delivering technical advice and subject matter expertise to support the provision of advice, ensuring optimal outcomes for people with disabilities in Australia.
- Experienced at developing and implementing strategic advice and research to continually enhance the provision of advice.
- Skilled in crafting advice that integrates workplans, corporate priorities, the disability system, and its mainstream interfaces.
- Proven experience in managing strategic, advisory, or legislated relationships.
- Adept at writing for government organisations and producing plain English documentation.
- Capable of representing the IAC in high-level discussions and negotiations with key stakeholders, including external providers and organisations, to share information, clarify expectations, and influence outcomes.
