AWS Tech Lead

Our Federal Government Client is seeking to engage an AWS Tech Lead to join their team.

Your new company

The team's primary focus is to provide a scalable, secure and easy to use Application Programming Interface (API) Platform with common and reusable API capabilities that help consumers expedite the delivery of their APIs to seamlessly integrate systems in a complex IT ecosystem. The team defines the standards, processes and patterns that solutions built on the API Platform need to adhere to so that they can be efficiently, effectively and securely run on the MuleSoft Platform.

Your new role

Infrastructure Management:
  • Managing AWS Infrastructure.
  • Authentication and Authorisation for Kafka objects.
  • Monitoring platform and Kafka applications/objects.
  • Automating Infrastructure and deployments.
Security best practices:
  • Setting up Security best practices.
  • Establishment of connectivity with on premises and other cloud apps.

Essential Criteria:
Infrastructure Management
  • Experience with Kafka design and development.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Route 53, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, MSK, Kafka clients, VPC and connecting applications.
  • Automate AWS-MSK setup using AWS CloudFormation scripts.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix systems administration or Windows administration.
  • Experience of monitoring using AWS Cloud Watch and other MSK's native options to track performance, auditing and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in automation deployments (Connectors, Kafka clients Etc).
  • Strong scripting skills for automation tasks.
  • Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Gitlab, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Optimising throughput, minimising latency, performance fine-tuning.
Security best practices:
  • Establishing Kafka security configurations such as SSL/TLS, encryption and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
  • Encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Setting up secure connectivity with on premises and other cloud applications (Azure Event Hub and Google PubSub).
