OHS Specialist

Hybrid Working Model | Southeast Office | Contract until end of Feb 2025

Working for a large, well known education provider as a Senior OHS Business Partner – Student Health & First Aid, to ensure the safety of our staff and students while at the same time fostering an environment conducive to academic growth.
This position will see you reporting to the OHS Manager.

Your new role
This opportunity is a full-time contract until the end of Feb 2025, offering flexible hours and a hybrid work model, with the office based in Dandenong.

Duties required
  • The development and implementation of systems and initiatives to continuously improve health and First Aid outcomes for all employees and students.
  • The development and implementation of systems and processes to effectively manage the delivery, management and administration of medication or health support to students
  • Providing expert Medical Management & First Aid advice and support managers, including incident investigations, root cause analysis and follow-up support
  • Conducting regular audits, reporting, and trend analysis to monitor and measure performance, identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Preparing a range of briefing papers and reports for internal stakeholders, highlighting the status and effectiveness of medical management & first aid safety measures.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Management, or a related field
  • Certified Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner (or higher) with the Australian Institute of Health & Safety or willingness to obtain certification
  • Proven competency in the provision of expert OHS management, quality management systems, or a related field in a complex, multi-risk environment.
  • Proven experience in policy development, particularly in the context of individual health plans.
  • Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with best practices in student health and safety in educational institutions.
