We are seeking a dedicated Manager for our clients, Family Violence Prevention Service, which provides essential legal and non-legal support to clients navigating the legal system.

Your New Role
In this role, you will lead a team of caseworkers delivering vital non-legal support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Tasmania experiencing family violence. Your focus will be on ensuring clients receive culturally safe and considerate assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a part-time caseload while overseeing a team of caseworkers.
  • Represent the service at advocacy forums and build referral pathways through external partnerships.
  • Collaborate with legal professionals to ensure holistic client support.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments, safety plans, and intervention strategies.
  • Attend legal appointments and support clients during hearings and trials.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with relevant organisations to promote services.
  • Lead the development of non-legal policies and frameworks.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples (preferred).
  • Commitment to supporting diverse clients, including victims of family violence and sexual assault
  • The ability to apply culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, person-centred approaches.
  • Experience in risk assessment, safety planning, and effective intervention strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting facilitation and report preparation.
  • High-level interpersonal skills for engaging with various stakeholders.
  • The ability to thrive in a multi-skilled, high-pressure, client-focused environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Initiative and resourcefulness in developing peer and team relationships.
  • Confidence in providing psycho-education to support clients in legal contexts.
You’ll Also Need
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • National police check and current registration to work with vulnerable people.
This role requires travel across Tasmania, which may occur outside of standard business hours.
