Your new role:As a Policy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping biosecurity policies. You will lead a team to develop high-level statements of advice, major policy papers, briefing notes, and more. Your expertise will guide the department in addressing biosecurity policy issues and related funding.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Initiate, oversee, and develop high-level statements of advice, major policy papers, briefing notes, reports to policy forums, presentations, speeches, publications, correspondence, and submissions to Cabinet on biosecurity policy issues and related funding.
- Manage the periodic review and updating of standard procedures and guidelines within the assigned policy portfolio.
- Advise colleagues, senior management, and the Minister's office about policy measures, outcomes, and impacts on stakeholders.
- Work in partnership across policy, operations, and science areas to support common understanding of policy and evaluate the impacts of policies on the biosecurity system.
- Represent the organisation as a recognised expert in their policy area and support senior management in representing the organisation on committees and working groups.
