Your new role
The Data Analyst will assist in the analysis of the current Power BI reports and dashboards and documentation of the data lineage by tracking the data from the reporting end to its source(s).
This role will primarily be in support of the Unified Data Store (UDS) Project at the organisation. They will be working closely with the BI team, UDS project team and the report/data set owners to understand document any non-standard data used by the reports and also any improvements that could be made to the report.

What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in analysing and profiling data
- Basic knowledge of Power BI
- Ability to manipulate data in Excel and produce analysis, reports and finding
- Ability to trace data from source to target, through different systems including SQL Server Database(s)
- Ability to comprehend the components of scripts
- Ability to document the findings in clear plain-English
- Technical proficiency in data management tools and technologies, such as SQL, data warehousing, data governance platforms, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake will be well regarded.
- Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve data related issues.
- Ability to track and report work in JIRA/Azure DevOps or similar tool is desirable.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience with Data Analysis in a similar water utility, Victorian Utility, government organisation or similarly regulated organization is desirable.
