APS6 Technical Advisor

Our client based in Perth is currently seeking a Technical Advisor to join their team.

Your new company

Our client requires a Technical Advisor for a temporary period commencing Monday 10th March through to 31st December 2025. This position is located within Perth near public transport and parking.

The role will consist of working full-time hours Monday through to Friday.

The organisation is a statutory agency responsible for implementing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which aims to improve the lives of Australians with significant and permanent disabilities and their families and carers.

The APS6 Technical Advisory role entails providing detailed technical, professional, policy, and operational support for complex issues. This position supports the organisation's mission to build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme through strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development.

As a team member with potential leadership responsibilities, the APS6 Technical Advisor manages team priorities and workflows. They have reasonable autonomy and accountability, using initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy to achieve desired outcomes.

Your new role

Key responsibilities will consist of:

  • Offering subject matter expertise through coaching and mentoring, advising on appropriate support for participant outcomes.
  • Handling sensitive conversations related to funding approval.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, delegates, partners, and providers to ensure consistent decision-making and outcomes.
  • Providing high-quality written and telephone advice and maintaining records.

Required qualifications in any of the below. These are acknowledged as covering degree, advanced or other diploma qualifications in the following areas:
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Prosthetics and Orthotics
  • Speech Pathology
  • Physiotherapy
  • Psychology
  • Registered Nursing (eligible for AHPRA registration)
  • Social Work
  • Mental Health Practitioners
  • Specialist Behavioural Support Practitioners
  • Medico Legal Allied Health
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in disability, hospital, or aged care
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated clinical experience
Citizenship requirement: Australian Citizen
