Position Summary:
Join the team as a Project Engineer, reporting to the Design Team Manager. You'll be responsible for producing top-quality electrical designs for distribution authority networks across Victoria. Your designs must meet customer timeframes and budgets, comply with relevant technical requirements, and adhere to Australian Standards. Engage proactively with customers and stakeholders to resolve issues and manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Lead by example and embody our values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership:
Support pre-sales and project initiation activities, define scope of work, review project schedules, monitor quality, collaborate with the Engineering Services team, and support professional development of staff. - Customer Schedule:
Maintain project schedules, identify risks, and implement mitigation steps. - Safety:
Comply with HSEQ Policy and Procedures, follow the SiD risk assessment process. - Design Quality:
Strive for the highest level of design quality, follow quality assurance processes, and support peer review. - Customer Management:
Provide proactive communications, regular updates, and attend meetings and site visits. Develop return customers and positive feedback. - Technical Solution:
Understand project drivers, set, and approve design concepts, initiate design review meetings, and obtain design approval.
Skills and Experience:
- Essential Requirements:
Degree in electrical engineering, minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design for distribution networks, project management skills, and knowledge of AutoCAD Microstation, Perfectlite, and AGI32. - Design Experience:
Experience with electronic design systems; AS3000, AS7000, AS2067, VicRoads/DoT Standards, and MTM/VLine Standards. - Personal Attributes:
Strong communication and management skills, commercial acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, time management, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
