A government organisation in Perth CBD, are seeking a senior procurement professional to join their team. This role is being offered on an initial 6-month temporary contract, with a possible extension on offer for the right person. You will be required to work full-time hours and will be paid on a competitive hourly rate.
Your new role
As the Principal Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Facilitating, developing and managing complex and high-risk contracts
- Overseeing procurement planning, contract formation and contract negotiation activities
- Developing and implementing procurement and governance frameworks
- Providing specialist advice and support to stakeholders around procurement processes and contract management frameworks
- Preparing procurement and contract management performance reports, ensuring compliant with government standards
- Representing the department on meetings to discuss procurement planning activities/advice
- Assist in the overall management of the procurement team, providing guidance as needed
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered, you will have:
- Previous experience in a high-level procurement environment, managing complex contracts
- Previous experience working in a procurement role within the government sector
- Advanced communication skills with confidence in handling negotiations and discussing procurement processes
- Advanced written communication skills with confidence in preparing complex contractual documentation
