Looking for an Operator to commence ASAP in Mackay. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!

Your new company

Our client is a major supplier of construction materials. They operate 210 concrete plants, 71 quarries, 4 asphalt plants, 5 recycling plants, and 1 landfill site. They offer a wide range of products, including concrete, aggregates, sand, road base, asphalt, and sustainable recycled materials. They are currently looking for an excavator or loader operator to join their team in Mackay!

Your new role

We are looking for self-motivated and safety-focused Quarry Operators to join our Farleigh Quarry team in Mackay, QLD. This full-time, permanent position reports to the Quarry Manager. Ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to safety and work ethics, and be versatile in operating sales loaders, other quarry machinery, and performing crushing plant operations and maintenance as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operate mobile equipment, including front-end loaders (sales) and potentially dump trucks/water carts
Learn to operate fixed crushing plants and blending plants
Conduct general maintenance and inspections of fixed/mobile plants as needed
Perform manual handling tasks as required
Be prepared to work outdoors and get dirty!
Assist with various quarry tasks, especially during busy periods

What you'll need to succeed

Front End Loader or Excavator ticket mandatory
Must be a team player
No experience required; training will be provided for the right person, but you must have a can-do attitude

What you'll get in return

If you are successful in this role, you will have the chance to work in a small team at a local site. This position offers guaranteed 38-hour weeks, with some weekend work and overtime as needed. The hourly rate will be based on your experience and skills. Initially, this role will start on a casual basis with our client, with the potential to transition to a full-time position for the right candidate in the future.
