We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to join their team in Yandina. As the Workplace Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all workplace health, safety, and environmental standards are met, and legislative requirements are fully complied with through continuous improvement of documented HSE procedures.
Your new role
As a key member of the team, the responsibilities and duties of this role will include, but not be limited to:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and improve documented HSE procedures, safeguarding workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near-miss occurrences, analysing root causes to prevent future incidents.
Oversee the coordination and delivery of all employee induction, work-based competency, safety compliance, and environmental training programs.
Keep up to date with the latest HSE regulations and industry best practices, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Advocate for a safety-first culture, encouraging employee involvement and participation in safety initiatives.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, recommending improvements where necessary.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies and external partners to ensure compliance and uphold our commitment to workplace health and safety.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience as a Workplace Health and Safety Advisor or similar role, with a strong focus on HSE compliance.
Sound knowledge of workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
Strong analytical skills to identify potential hazards and devise appropriate risk control measures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organisation.
Ability to conduct engaging and informative safety training sessions.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time-management abilities.
Flexibility to work part-time hours.
