A State Government Department with an office in Cairns city is seeking a motivated and dynamic Asset Accountant to join their fixed asset team on a temporary month-to-month contract.

Your new role

• Assists in maintaining the Department's fixed asset accounting structure.
• Provides precise and relevant information to support timely decisions on asset life-cycle costs.
• Coordinates the annual fixed asset stock-take.
• Collaborates with asset maintainers across the Department to ensure the accuracy of the Fixed Assets Register.
• Assists in maintaining the Fixed Assets Register.
• Supports the determination, analysis, review, validation, and reporting of budget and actual depreciation for current and future estimates.
• Aids in the revaluation of fixed assets.
• Prepares reports on the Fixed Assets Register.

What you'll need to succeed

We’re looking for a skilled accountant to join this Government Department on a temporary contract, starting immediately. If you have strong conceptual and financial analytical skills, a proven track record in resolving fixed asset accounting issues, and excellent time management to handle priorities and deadlines effectively, we want to hear from you! SAP experience is a big plus.
