Your new role

As an Urban Designer at this council, projects will have a strong focus on community engagement. Tasks will include but not be limited to:
• Providing urban design and design quality advice to the Council
• Collaborating with others to deliver urban design and place-making projects
• Working closely with the Spatial Planning Unit, for the delivery of the Council’s new LEP and DCP
• Coordinating and delivering masterplans, providing advice on urban design issues for development applications, planning proposals and precinct plans and other parts of Council as required.

What you'll need to succeed

It is essential that you have tertiary qualifications in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture or Architecture, however all professional experience must be in Urban Design. Professional experience can be from the public or private sector, but exposure to NSW legislation is essential. You must have exposure to using software’s such as the Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and Google Sketchup. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years Urban Design experience up to whatever limit (hourly rate adjusted accordingly).
