Our client is an Australian technology integrator specialising in wireless communication solutions. They serve sectors including mining, oil and gas, and emergency services, providing design, installation, and maintenance of radio technology systems. Our client is known for its innovative solutions and commitment to quality. They are currently looking for a telecommunications technician to join their Mackay team doing field service within the Bowen Basin.
Your new role
- Providing field service in Mackay and the Bowen Basin
- Developing and carrying out technical work plans
- Testing, diagnosing, and repairing equipment
- Coordinating technical support and performing repairs
- Supporting and conducting preventative maintenance tasks
- Preparing service quotations
- Conducting safety compliance inspections
- Assisting with the commissioning and start-up of installations
- Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and specifications
What you'll need to succeed
- Certificate III in Electronics and Communications or equivalent
- ACMA Registered Cabler with endorsements in Structured, Optical Fibre, and Coaxial cabling
- Over 5 years of experience with RF systems and telecommunications equipment
- Proficient in Internet Protocol networks and skilled in using test equipment such as spectrum analysers, OTDR, and light source power meters
- Knowledgeable and experienced with Leaky Feeder antenna systems (MST, Becker, RFI, PBE, Tunnel Radio, etc.), digital and analogue radio systems, Direct Current power systems, and optical fibre installations
- Ability to complete police check
- Contactable references
- Living locally in the Mackay region
- Standard 11 & Coal Board Medical – desirable or be willing to obtain
- Experience in underground mining (desirable)
