Hays has partnered with local government on an Environmental Health Officer role based in Brisbane. Due to a strong pipeline, our client is looking to fill multiple roles with Environmental Health professionals.

Your new role

As an Environmental Health Officer, you will work on a range of relevant projects for environmental health and ensure that outcomes comply with relevant legislation, standards, policy, and conditions of approval; and assist the clients' customers to meet acceptable and sustainable environmental health outcome

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you will need:

• Demonstrated ability to manage and conduct assessments and investigations with a superior understanding of relevant legislation and standards.
• Strong knowledge of environmental health principles and ecologically sustainable development.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively with stakeholders.
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to resolve complex or sensitive issues.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and contribute to a culture of performance excellence.
• Eligibility for membership with the Australian Institute of Environmental Health (desirable).
• Postgraduate qualification in environmental health or a related field (desirable).
