Your new role

You will work with a collaborative high-performing team while engaging closely with the internal business and will be responsible for the following:

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of legal services and provide support to major projects across the business, such as strategic growth opportunities and regulatory change projects
• Provide advice on legal matters and advise on changes in law and regulatory requirements which have an impact on business
• Drafting, reviewing and assisting the business with the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements
• Project management and other related tasks necessary to help the organisation meet its legal/regulatory obligations
• Oversee an effective contract management framework
• Oversee company secretarial type matters
• Providing strategic advice on legal and regulatory matters to the business on a needs basis including interpretation of legislation
• Supporting business areas to fulfil their regulatory and legislation obligations

What you'll need to succeed

• Ideally between 5-8 years PAE
• Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia
• Experience practising in insurance and/or financial services law
• Proven ability to understand and interpret legislation, in particular exposure to competition and consumer law, Privacy Act, Intellectual Property, Work Health & Safety and Corporations law
• Strong legal drafting and research skills
• Advanced negotiation and influencing skills
• Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
• Critical thinking ability and strong attention to detail
