Looking for site-based diesel & mechanical fitters to commence ASAP in the Clermont region!

Your new company

Our client is a major player in Australia's mining industry, operating 22 mines across New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory. As the country's largest coal producer, they run 15 coal mines in New South Wales and Queensland. They also extract high-grade copper at the Mount Isa Mines complex, zinc and lead at the Mount Isa, Lady Loretta, and McArthur River mines, and nickel and cobalt at the Murrin Murrin site in Western Australia. They are currently looking for Mechanical & Diesel Fitters to commence ASAP in the Clermont region.

Your new role

Working on fixed plant equipment – conveyer, train loadout, wash plant etc.
Upholding WHS policies
Perform tasks independently in situations requiring immediate troubleshooting and repair
Ensure cleanliness of workshop
Manage equipment for breakdown readiness
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings

What you'll need to succeed

Trade Qualification – Diesel/Mechanical Fitter
Coal Board Medical
Standard 11
Drivers Licence
Minimum 2 years’ experience working within the mining industry
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
Ability to complete a police check
Living within 500kms of Clermont QLD region (DIDO only position)

What you'll get in return

If successful, you'll join a well-known company in the Bowen Basin, working on a 7/7 day and night roster with 12-hour shifts. While on shift, camp meals and accommodation will be provided. You'll receive a competitive hourly rate with superannuation on all hours worked. This position also offers the potential to transition into a permanent role.
