A prominent marketing, distribution, and sales arm of a leading global corporation, based in the Northern Beaches, is seeking a dedicated professional for a permanent, office-based role. Your new role

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closing, auditing process and reporting.
• Monitoring the finance department to ensure all accounting standards are being followed and all the company procedures are being adhered to
• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Ensure the monthly, quarterly and annual reports to Headquarters (HQ) and ATO Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
• Supports MD and CFO in any financial matters, especially for budgeting, forecasting and year end audit activities.
• Monitor and analyse department work to develop more efficient procedures and the use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy and meeting the deadlines.
• Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
• Monitor and reconcile all general ledgers to ensure data accuracy
• Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial information

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Prefer CPA qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ post graduate accounting experience
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred, or experience with similar ERP software
• Prefer accounting experience in a larger global entity which requires reporting to an overseas head office
• Managed a small team
