We are seeking a skilled and proactive Commercial Property Claims Adjuster to join our client's team. This dynamic role involves validating restoration and building quotes for small to medium properties, spanning high-end residential and commercial projects. With a balance of office-based work and on-site visits, you’ll collaborate closely with builders, help streamline costs, and ensure scopes are optimised. Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in construction, a practical mindset to challenge estimates when needed, and an understanding of insurance processes. A builder’s licence or equivalent experience is highly valued, as well as the ability to foster productive relationships and deliver accurate evaluations efficiently.
Your new role
- Conduct on-site inspections to assess damages and validate repair scopes and costs.
- Analyse repair methodologies to ensure they align with industry standards.
- Collaborate with contractors to negotiate cost-effective solutions and maintain compliance with regulations.
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and relevant Australian standards.
- Validate construction costs with accuracy, drawing on expertise in industry benchmarks.
- Build strong relationships by providing exceptional service and clear communication.
- Efficiently manage tasks and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work standards.
- Adapt quickly to changing circumstances, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive attitude.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven expertise in construction estimating for high-end residential and commercial projects.
- Confident communicator with exceptional verbal and written skills to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Skilled at balancing multiple estimates and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Direct experience working with policyholders, builders, consultants, and suppliers to drive successful outcomes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the construction lifecycle, including key milestones, WHS protocols, and handover processes.
- Solid understanding of Building Codes and Australian Standards, ensuring compliance at every stage.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results.
