Our federal government client is seeking to engage a highly skilled EL1 Technical Lead for Workforce Identity and Access Management. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to major Identity and Access Management projects and support Cybersecurity and Resilience functions within a complex and high-profile environment. This position offers an initial contract of up to 18 months, with the potential for extension.

Your new role

As the Technical Lead, you’ll take charge of delivering and overseeing complex, highly technical Identity and Cybersecurity workloads. Working with a talented team, you’ll lead by example, providing expertise in Microsoft Entra ID and driving secure, business-aligned Identity solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality designs and solution architectures aligned with strategic objectives such as Zero Trust.
  • Leading technical deliverables and priorities for Workforce Identity Engineers in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Utilising your expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, including user lifecycles, Conditional Access, and Privileged Identity Management.
  • Applying advanced skills in development, including infrastructure-as-code, Graph API, automations, and code release pipelines.
  • Guiding the Department's move from legacy on-prem Identity solutions to Cloud-First implementations.
This role will challenge your problem-solving abilities, decision-making, and technical acumen as you work across multiple high-impact projects.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting secure Identity and Access Management solutions within Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft-focused development and automation tools, such as Graph API, PowerShell, and automations.
  • Strong understanding or experience with migrations from on-prem Identity solutions to Cloud-First environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and advocate for Identity and Security priorities to diverse stakeholders through presentations and designs.
  • A proactive approach to leading complex technical projects and driving strategic outcomes.
