APS6 Senior Policy Officer
Salary: $65 - $75 per hour + Super
12-month temp assignment with the potential to extend a further 6 monthsWe are seeking talented professionals to join our dynamic and impactful teams in shaping the future of Australia's aviation sector. We are currently recruiting for up to four APS 6 roles across 3 teams, all working on innovative projects and reforms.
Available Positions:
1. APS6 – Policy Officer (Consumer Policy team)
Be at the forefront of developing consumer protection reform and improving transparency in airline performance reporting. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research and policy analysis.
- Supporting the drafting of legislation related to consumer protection and airline reporting.
- Providing advice and communication to support decision-making.
- Planning and executing stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Managing projects to deliver initiatives within agreed timeframes.
2. APS6 – Secretariat and Stakeholder Engagement (Demand Management team)
Play a key role in the regulatory framework for airport demand management. Core tasks involve:
- Providing secretariat services for a Compliance Committee.
- Supporting the establishment of a new Compliance Committee under amended legislation.
- Engaging with stakeholders to design and implement a regulatory framework.
- Drafting regulations, processes, and materials to ensure compliance.
- Offering advice to inform decision-making and communications.
- Managing projects to meet strategic timelines.
3. APS6 – Regulatory Oversight and Analysis of Technical Data (Demand Management team)
Drive data insights and regulatory oversight for slot management frameworks. Key functions include:
- Overseeing and managing compliance with expectations for slot management.
- Analysing technical slot data to identify seasonal trends and improve oversight.
- Supporting online reporting initiatives for demand management.
- Drafting regulations, processes, and procedures for the regulatory framework.
- Advising decision-making through strategic communication.
- Delivering projects within agreed timeframes.
4. APS6 – Senior Policy Officer (Industry Ombuds Scheme team)
Shape the future of consumer protection and complaint-handling standards in the aviation industry. Responsibilities include:
- Finalising a Consumer Rights Charter.
- Engaging stakeholders and industry to implement the charter.
- Assisting in the review of complaints handling standards and practices.
- Developing consumer educational materials.
- Analysing global best practices in consumer protection and complaints resolution.
- Drafting policies and procedures for an Ombuds Scheme.
- Managing projects to ensure the scheme's efficient establishment.
