A leading government organisation (and the largest of it’s kind) headquartered in Brisbane’s CBD is seeking a GIS Analyst for initial six month contract to create the visualisation of Brisbane’s smart (IoT, Telecommunications, etc) infrastructure!
Your new role
Established many years ago to service the needs of those who call South-East Queensland home, this Brisbane headquartered government organisation are undergoing several technological based initiatives to enhance the lives of those living across the region.
With a large program of work underway to enhance Brisbane’s digital (and accompanying physical) infrastructure, the goal is to turn Brisbane into one of Australia’s leading smart cities. To help achieve this, this government organisation is now seeking a GIS Analyst for an initial six month contract.
Tasked with the creation of a visual representation of the cities smart infrastructure (including IoT devices, displays, telecommunications, networks, etc), this role will see you build a map for stakeholders to use to view all technologies that are in use across the city. Working in a multifaceted team, you will be using GIS and spatial analysis tools (including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online or QGIS) to collect, review and analyse data. Following this, you will use this this data to design and build digital maps comprised of multiple layers of different kinds of data (e.g. terrain, population density, infrastructure, etc) to support decision-making.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience/knowledge across as much of the following:
- ArcGIS and its eco system (ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online) or QGIS
- Digital map design and creation
- Data Collection and Storage.
- Analysis of spatial data.
- Working with individuals across all levels of an organisation
- Clear and perfect communication skills (both spoken and written)
NOTE:
- Full Australian working rights are needed
- Applicants need to be currently residing in ANZ (those outside will not be considered for this position)
