Your new role

Our client is seeking a Senior Architect/Technician to provide architectural services to support the Director of Strategy and Planning and to assist with the design and planning team. A role which engages all business units, you will have an excellent ability to communicate with stakeholders, providing advice, guidance and managing expectations with strong relationship-building skills.

A temporary ongoing position with Hays, with an opportunity to move to a permanent position with the client

Responsibilities
  • Test fits for workplace, teaching spaces, informal study areas, labs and various general space types.
  • Scoping and documentation of works for minor works and small projects in written and CAD form
  • Development of architectural briefs for larger projects
  • Advising on best practice design and compliance
  • Review of CAD drawings from internal and external designers ensuring best practice
  • Undertake feasibility studies and provide architectural input into business cases
  • Communicate with stakeholders; both internal and external

What you'll need to succeed

  • 7 years’ experience in a similar role; Commercial Fit-outs and/or Workplace experience
  • Knowledge of Australian Codes relative to building design and compliance
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Advanced CAD skills, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent approach to client services
