Exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to work on a Hobart CBD project

Your new company

This mainland-based company has been awarded an exciting Hobart-based contract with more expected in the coming years. This privately-owned construction business has been around for over 10 years. This company prides itself on delivering to the standard that their clients and consultant network expect. Their approach supports long-term clients with their asset & investment strategies. Their main focus is on three main areas, which are refurbishment, construction, and fitout.

Your new role

The purpose of this role is to manage the different objectives of each project, working alongside the project delivery team and supporting the other Project Managers and Site Manager to deliver projects safely, of high quality and on time and on budget. You'll also be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Project Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, making adjustments as necessary to stay within financial constraints.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, permits, and progress reports.

What you'll need to succeed

To be a successful candidate, you will need to have the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, as well as the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
