A leading government organisation headquartered in Ipswich is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst for initial 12 month contract to lead the development and administration of their spatial technical solution and mapping platform!
Your new role
Established many years ago to service the needs of those who call South-East Queensland home, this Ipswich headquartered government organisation have recently undergone several technological uplifts to further enhance their digital capabilities.
Part of this saw their dedicated multi-disciplinary Spatial Technology Team upgrade, enhance and rollout their new ArcGIS platform. Deploying ArcGIS Enterprise within a cloud-based environment (AWS), this also included the migration of key data assets.
With this transformation nearing completion, this team are now seeking a Senior GIS Analyst.
Requiring a strong background in ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Desktop Applications (such as ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Pro) alongside experience in the maintenance of GIS Databases, GIS Web Portal and GIS Interfaces, this role will see you conduct a myriad of responsibilities.
Supporting, upgrading and maintaining this eco system (from a hands on technical and best practice/standards perspective), advising the organisation on suitable technical solutions (including architecture, systems, and integration) and coordinating spatial projects are all such examples.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience/knowledge across as much of the following:
- ArcGIS and its eco system (ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online)
- ArcGIS API’s and Python (nice to have, not essential)
- The wider Esri product suite
- Various spatial systems (MapInfo, Geocortex, Esri, Hexagon, Oracle spatial)
- Analysis of spatial data
- Working with individuals across all levels of an organisation
- Clear and perfect communication skills (both spoken and written)
NOTE:
- Full Australian working rights are needed
- Applicants need to be currently residing in ANZ (those outside will not be considered for this position)
