An international mining house that is at the forefront of the extraction of coal is seeking an experienced Scheduler to help drive the delivery of infrastructure projects for one of their leading coal operations local to Mackay.
Your new role
As Scheduling Specialist, your role is responsible for developing, optimising, and scheduling maintenance activities to minimise downtime, waste, cost, and maximise resource utilisation while ensuring safety is the primary focus. Reporting to the Shutdown Team - the below duties are completed by the Scheduler:
Developing shutdown schedule
- Follow planning processes under MECoE framework used on site
- Raising purchase orders
- Developing written scope of work document
- Developing budget estimates for the shutdown in line with the approved budget for the shutdown
- Assist with monthly accruals
- Budget vs actual tracking
- Shutdown S-curves
- Updating schedule progress
- Contractor daily claim sheet audits and approvals
- Tracking delays to schedule
- Assisting with the shutdown daily report
- Reviewing and approving invoices
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will ideally have the following skill set:
- Trade Background desirable but not mandatory
- Must have a white card or be willing to obtain
- Strong engaging and influencing skills
- Intermediate hands-on knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- 5yrs experience in a similar field, such as fixed plant/asset integrity/structural planning, SAP and MS-Project experience is highly regarded.
- A get-up-and-go attitude
- Ability to work in teams and have an independent work ethic
