A global Defence company based in Homebush Sydney is seeking a permanent Security and Systems Administrator to join their team. This role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls to protect networks, systems, and data. You must have an NV1 security clearance or higher to be considered.

Your new role

You will ensure the reliability and performance of the organisation’s IT systems. Some of your day-to-day duties will include:

Linux security administration and account management
Analysis of system and security event logs
Maintaining security on infrastructure including laptops/desktops, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, LANS
Performing vulnerability scans
Providing documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing upgrades of IT infrastructure

What you'll need to succeed

You will have 3–5 years of system administration experience with a strong security mindset.

Your key competencies will include:

Extensive experience in Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
Knowledge of UNIX-based operating systems (AIX, Linux etc.)
Knowledge of Patch management (Windows, Linux, & VMware)
Working knowledge of virtualisation, VMWare
Knowledge of network security/firewalls
Strong knowledge of ISM, DSPF, and PSPF
