Your new role

As a Geospatial Specialist, you will play a crucial role in executing GIS projects, managing geospatial data, and supporting decision-making processes. Your expertise in geospatial analysis, mapping, visualization, and data management will be essential in developing and maintaining our geospatial infrastructure. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance geospatial capabilities and promote the adoption of geospatial tools and processes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute GIS projects using a range of geospatial skills, including analysis, mapping, visualization, and data management.
  • Manage and create geospatial products, such as datasets, to support decision-making and policy development.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of geospatial asset data.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to build geospatial analysis capabilities.
  • Identify process improvements and recommend system modifications.
  • Promote geospatial awareness and adoption through training workshops.
  • Support the delivery of the geospatial strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualifications in GIS or a related discipline (e.g., Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Cartography, Computer Science).
  • Demonstrated experience with GIS applications, including AutoCAD Map 3D, QGIS, and Intramaps.
  • Strong knowledge of GIS principles, data management, and spatial analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in public sector or local government is desirable.
  • Professional certification in GIS is a plus.
  • Current driver's license.
