Our State Government client is looking for an experienced Media Manager to join their team on a 3-month short-term temporary contract.

Your new role

• Lead a talented team in developing and executing proactive and reactive media strategies.

• Shape media communications to align with organisational strategic objectives.

• Provide expert advice on communication approaches to drive results.

• Manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Ensure clear and impactful internal and external communications.

• Lead the development of targeted media communication strategies.

• Create narratives and messages that resonate with the right audiences.

• Simplify complex issues into compelling stories.

• Oversee the department’s media policies.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in developing and implementing effective media communication strategies.

• Government experience is highly desirable.

• Strong skills in motivating, developing, and directing teams, fostering productive working relationships.

• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the media, senior management, and ministerial offices.

• High-level verbal and written communication skills, including writing and editing media statements, responses, briefing notes, and speeches.

• Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills, capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
