Mechanical Fitters are required for a defence project in the Southern Suburbs. You must be an Australian citizen to be considered for these positions.
Working alongside a talented team of engineers and technicians, you will apply your knowledge of mechanical systems and principles to assemble, install, and repair various components, ensuring they meet stringent quality and performance standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics, as you will be troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise system performance. The successful candidate will have a solid background in mechanical fitting, experience with a variety of tools and machinery, and the ability to work under pressure while adhering to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install mechanical components and systems according to specifications and engineering drawings.
- Conduct thorough inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnosing problems and recommending appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to understand project requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed, including modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to complete fitting tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter
- Hold an Australian passport
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, assembly techniques, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of hand and power tools used for mechanical assembly and fitting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, along with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
