Your new role

We are seeking a dedicated professional to manage and oversee the City’s land administration processes. This role involves coordinating various land and property-related tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing valuable advice to both internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage land administration processes.
  • Prepare project briefs, obtain quotations, and engage consultants.
  • Monitor tenant compliance with agreements and laws.
  • Provide advice to external organisations and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate inspections of leased premises.
  • Assist with contract negotiation and land management agreements.
  • Prepare lease matters, including new agreements and renewals.
  • Handle Crown land enquiries and land tenure investigations.
  • Evaluate lease and licence proposals.
  • Manage Councils leased/licenced building assets.
  • Oversee the City’s utilities, including submeter readings and utility accounts.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Strategic Land and Property Coordinator.
  • Prepare reports and responses for Executives, Councillors, and public enquiries.
  • Ensure workplace safety and health, report hazards, and follow safe work practices.
  • Participate in incident investigations and return to work programs.
  • Comply with risk management policies and report operational risks.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995 and related Acts.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation.
  • Skills in property disposal and land management processes.
  • Experience in property administration for reserve land.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Research and analytical skills for complex reports and recommendations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Experience in land administration, including leasing and licencing.
  • Experience in the land/property sector, preferably in local government.
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
