Accounts Payable Officer

Hays are proud to be partnering with this company to recruit an Accounts Payable Officer for their head office in Ulverstone, TAS.

Your new role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll be responsible for a broad range of Accounts Payable and Administrative duties including:

  • Receival of supplier invoices, matching purchase orders and dealing with issues arising from discrepancies.
  • Reconciling creditor statements with variances investigated, explained, and actioned.
  • Timely and accurate processing of creditor invoices to ensure all payments are made according to terms. Reviewing coding and amending where necessary. Ensuring job costing is applied appropriately and accurate recording of GST.
  • Manage uploading of daily Purchase Control batches and the import of creditor invoices.

You’ll also assist with:
  • Support the reception function by demonstrating an efficient and courteous telephone and reception service
  • Assist with the collection and distribution of inward and outward mail
  • Assist with Mobile Phone Register maintenance, ordering mobile phones and review of monthly telephone invoices in conjunction with Senior Accountant & IT Manager.
  • Manage general office printers, responsible for basic maintenance and managing staff email register on printer’s databank
  • Other ad hoc admin work as necessary.

What you'll need to succeed

As the preferred candidate, you’ll be a self-starter, with a high attention to detail and possess strong experience within a large scale Accounts Payable function. You’ll be adaptable to a fast-paced environment and have a personable nature to be the first point of contact for customers. Confident with varying IT applications and experience with large system software is desirable but not essential.
You’ll also be highly proficient with Excel.
