I am currently partnered with a State Government Department who are seeking an Administration Support Officer to join their evolving team in a temporary (initial 3-month) position.
Your new role
The role of Administration Support Officer entails serving as the initial point of contact for our client's Communications Centre, handling calls and radio communications, and referring complex enquiries to appropriate parties. Responsibilities include logging equipment and technical failures, maintaining special event information, and providing accurate information to and from the CAD system. The role also involves entering real-time information into CAD to aid managers, assisting Duty Managers with staff recall processes, and preparing reports or briefing notes. Additional duties are undertaken as required by the Duty Manager or Communications Centre Manager.
What you'll need to succeed
- Significant experience in providing high-level administrative support
- Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of office and administrative systems
- Experience in using Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience in the use of and accessing information on CAD systems (Desirable)
- Previous experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment (Desirable)
- Judgement to ensure matters of a confidential or sensitive nature are handled appropriately
- Initiative to ensure issues are identified and addressed appropriately
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist others to meet their objectives
- Tolerance for stress to maintain stable performance whilst under pressure
- The ability to retain and recall important information and make reasonable decision in a challenging environment
- Thoroughness and attention to detail, using appropriate checking processes to ensure accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts of varying or fixed durations including morning, afternoon and nights
