I have partnered with a Federal Government Agency in the heart of Geelong to recruit an APS5 Co Design and Engagement Officer for a full-time temporary assignment until March 2025 with a potential for extension.


Your new role

The APS5 Co-Design and Engagement Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the Agency. This position involves undertaking moderately complex to complex work under limited supervision, guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies, and precedents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Educate, inform, and liaise with mainstream services to enhance participant experience and increase social and economic participation.
  • Maintain local relationships with key stakeholders to support effective engagement.
  • Work as part of a high-performing team to engage with people with disability, their families, and carers using a nationally consistent approach.
  • Represent the organisation at external forums and events, providing information and guidance to people with disability, participants, and the wider community.
  • Proactively deliver engagement activities and projects in line with the Engagement strategy, utilising communication and engagement expertise.
  • Deliver clear, concise, and effective messaging to people with disability, their families, carers, and other community and mainstream stakeholders.
  • Manage the state/territory engagement inbox, acting as a point of escalation for triaging enquiries and requests.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in providing policy advice and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to improving the lives of people with disability.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen
