Your new role

This role is crucial for delivering robust reporting solutions for both on-premises databases and cloud sources like S/4HANA.

• Design, develop, and deploy ETL packages using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Perform data cleansing, transformation, and loading from various sources, including flat files, Excel, APIs, and databases.
• Implement incremental load strategies, error handling, and performance tuning in SSIS.
• Design and build OLAP cubes and tabular models using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Develop complex DAX and MDX queries.
• Create and maintain dimensional models, star/snowflake schemas, and data marts.
• Develop paginated reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Work with Azure Synapse Analytics, including Synapse SQL (Serverless SQL pools), data pipelines, lake databases, and Synapse workspaces.
• Integrate Synapse with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and other cloud services.
• Ensure security, scaling, and performance tuning within Synapse.

What you'll need to succeed

• ETL and Data Integration: Expertise in SSIS, data cleansing, transformation, and loading.
• Analytics and Data Modelling: Proficiency in SSAS, OLAP cubes, tabular models, DAX, MDX, dimensional modelling, and data warehousing.
• Reporting and Visualization: Hands-on experience with SSRS.
• Cloud Technologies: Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, data pipelines, and integration with Azure services.

• Microsoft SQL Server
• Visual Studio / SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Azure DevOps (for CI/CD pipelines)
• Power BI (intermediate to advanced skills)
• Azure data platform – Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills for translating technical solutions into business language.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and requirement gathering.
