They also manufacture a wide variety of engineered steel products for the precast and tilt-up sectors, such as cast in plates, threaded bars, fixing plates and angles, and customer specified strongbacks and other metal products. They work closely with customers to problem solve and present solutions for atypical situations, which are designed to improve efficiencies and provide cost savings. With decades of experience and diverse offerings extending concrete hardware, steel fabrication, and more, they are a versatile and entrepreneurial business in the construction sector. Their have an unlimited scope because they have the freedom of designing and manufacturing their own products, and can therefore guarantee the quality.
With the pre-cast industry poised for growth, an opportunity to join Shisham Stanley Group as a BDM has been created, based from their Brisbane branch in Wacol.
Your new role
As the Business Development Manager for Queensland, the main purpose of this role is to increase market penetration and sales of the company's products. You will target new and existing clients in the Construction and Pre-Cast industry, which may be Formwork Specialists, Precast
Propping Engineers, Installers or any other allied businesses that are supplying infrastructure and building projects (for example other engineering and building companies).
Key duties include:
Drive sales activity to exceed business objectives, sales growth, and profitability targets
Develop & implement sales strategies to maximise penetration
Identify, evaluate and acquire new business and maintain ongoing communication with existing customers
Effectively handle sales related customer issues while maintaining customer confidence
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve customer satisfaction and create a seamless and consistent customer experience
Secure orders, maintain product standards, and ensure timely product delivery in collaboration with the production team
Establish rapport with clients, addressing their needs and solving product usage problems.
Recommend new and improved products, emphasising cost-effectiveness.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in B2B sales within the Construction and Engineering sector. As a business developer, you will have strong commercial acumen, a customer first mentality and an ambitious ‘hunter’ mindset. Your strong relationship building skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be paramount for success in this role, along with sales experience in building products.
Previous B2B sales experience
Specific experience in pre-cast concrete, structural steel or fabrication will be highly favoured
Deep understanding of the construction industry in Queensland
Willingness to travel as required
Current drivers license and permanent work rights
High level of written & verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and able to meet deadlines
