Construction Supervisor

Supervisor for Queensland Government construction and building maintenance projects

Hays has partnered with a leading provider of construction and strategic building maintenance services for the Queensland Government looking to expand their team on the Gold Coast.

Your new role

As the Supervisor, your primary role is to assist in managing and coordinating project planning and delivery activities to maximise project profitability and ensure client satisfaction. The position will focus on ensuring the services provided meet the quality and value for money expectations of clients. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Produce high quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations, and project trade packages, including material lists and construction programs.
  • Provide a level of supervisory service with respect to the delivery of construction, maintenance and upgrade work undertaken by the company, including assisting in the planning and delivery of projects through the efficient supervision and development of office staff, field staff and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and undertake the delivery of high-quality condition assessment services for clients, including inspections/surveys of building elements and construction materials, including collecting samples of suspected asbestos containing materials for laboratory testing.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will be assessed on their experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that they can bring to the role. Additionally, their personal qualities and potential for development. The successful candidate must possess a current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card. The successful candidate will have thorough working knowledge of building and construction and maintenance legislative and regulatory requirements, principles and practices and contract procedures. A construction industry related trade qualification is highly desirable.
