Off the back of stable growth and increased demand for experienced professionals, this business is now looking for an experienced Container Surveyor to join their tight-knit team in Melbourne’s West.

Your new role

As a Container Surveyor, you will be responsible for inspecting and assessing the condition of shipping containers. This includes conducting detailed surveys, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will also coordinate with clients and internal teams to address any issues and provide recommendations for repairs or replacements. Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Inspect and assess a variety of containers received at our site as per our customer criteria
  • Take photographs of container damages
  • Produce repair estimates according to the inspection and as per our customer criteria
  • Using a handheld device, submit repair estimates in the Container Chain operating system within customer required time frames
  • Carry out minor repairs and blow outs

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in shipping containers surveying
  • Availability to work the hours of 6:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday, and the occasional Saturday
  • An eye for detail
  • Knowledge of shipping companies and leasing companies’ criteria and procedures is a must
  • IICL certificate is a must
  • Experience using handheld devices and the Container Chain operating system preferred
  • Ability to work well within a small team environment
