A well-known Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Cost Modeler to support major work programs aimed at delivering innovative solutions to enhance their scheme.

Your new role

• Assist in developing budget cost plans and forecasts to support the program’s business case.
• Create project cost plans and forecasts.
• Monitor and manage expenditures, identifying areas where budgets and spending exceed agreed tolerances.
• Ensure effective financial control to support optimal decision-making.
• Analyse actual and forecasted expenditures, examine variances, and provide advice on budget utilisation options.
• Prepare expenditure reports and briefs for OCIO leadership as needed.
• Advise on financial planning, budgeting, and costing for the project.
• Assist in developing tender documentation related to project procurement, including project-related ATM documents.
• Analyse vendors’ budget requirements to support the program.
• Prepare reports and briefs for SDP and OCIO leadership as required.
• Maintain effective financial control of the business case to support optimal procurement decisions.
• Schedule and organise project meetings and workshops with both internal and external stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

• 4–3 years’ experience working in a similar role.
• Demonstrate experience in working in a federal government procurement team.
• Demonstrate strong budget skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate experience in hands-on procurement activities.
• Knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR) and PGPA Act
• Demonstrate competency in Microsoft applications, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
• Previous experience in a project coordinator or business administration role is highly desired.
• Abiity to use SharePoint is highly desired
• MUST be an Australian Citizen
