A well-known Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Cost Modeler to support major work programs aimed at delivering innovative solutions to enhance their scheme.
Your new role
- Assist in developing budget cost plans and forecasts to support the program’s business case.
- Create project cost plans and forecasts.
- Monitor and manage expenditures, identifying areas where budgets and spending exceed agreed tolerances.
- Ensure effective financial control to support optimal decision-making.
- Analyse actual and forecasted expenditures, examine variances, and provide advice on budget utilisation options.
- Prepare expenditure reports and briefs for OCIO leadership as needed.
- Advise on financial planning, budgeting, and costing for the project.
- Assist in developing tender documentation related to project procurement, including project-related ATM documents.
- Analyse vendors’ budget requirements to support the program.
- Prepare reports and briefs for SDP and OCIO leadership as required.
- Maintain effective financial control of the business case to support optimal procurement decisions.
- Schedule and organise project meetings and workshops with both internal and external stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
- 4–3 years’ experience working in a similar role.
- Demonstrate experience in working in a federal government procurement team.
- Demonstrate strong budget skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate experience in hands-on procurement activities.
- Knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR) and PGPA Act
- Demonstrate competency in Microsoft applications, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Previous experience in a project coordinator or business administration role is highly desired.
- Abiity to use SharePoint is highly desired
- MUST be an Australian Citizen
