Hays has partnered with a state government entity to appoint a Database Administrator to a 6-month contract.

Your new Digital & Information team drives the digital vision, managing the ICT environment and strategy. This company focusses on investment, business engagement, innovation, and delivering the existing ICT functions.

Your new role

• Your focus will be on driving a culture of excellent customer service and providing advisory services. Along with managing the stability and performance of our clients' database environments, you will contribute to and support the future direction of our database environments, while aligning with current and emerging industry best practices.
• You will contribute to the approval process for database specifications to ensure all agreed standards and protocols are followed, and data integrity is preserved.
• You will drive a culture of continual improvement, focusing on such areas as automation, reporting, tool deployment as well as delivery and implementation of governance best practises to optimise database services to internal and external customers, suppliers, and support teams.

What you'll need to succeed

• Provide technical expertise to enable the configuration of software, other system components and equipment for systems testing.

• Creates reports and proposals for improvement and contributes to the planning and implementation of new installations and scheduled maintenance and changes within the system.

• Support implementation of required security measures such as firewalls or message encryption, monitoring performance to notify security experts of any problems.

• Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
