Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1 Cyber Security Specialist (Cyber Training and Outreach Officer). This role involves working on a comprehensive multi-year ICT transformation initiative. The position is initially for up to a 12-month contract, with options for two 12-month extensions. Hybrid working arrangements are available, with the first two months requiring five days in the office, then up to three days in the office and two days from home, or as otherwise agreed. The successful candidate must hold an NV1 security clearance and be based in Canberra, ACT.

Your new role

As a Cyber Training and Outreach Officer, you will join the Cyber Outreach and Strategy Section within the Cyber Security, Cloud and Networks Branch. Your key responsibilities will include creating and delivering cyber security awareness training and briefings, and assisting the team with a range of cyber outreach activities. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the agency’s cyber training and outreach efforts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and fostering a secure digital environment.

What you'll need to succeed

• Extensive experience in creating and reviewing cyber security training packages
• Ability to deliver cyber awareness training and briefings
• Strong skills in conducting or participating in meetings
• Informed decision-making and excellent communication skills
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficiency in learning delivery (ETDL) at Level 4 as per the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA)
